As soon as the name of the Civil Services Examination or IAS Exam is heard, the picture of a prestigious and dignified examination of the people begins to emerge in the mind.Every youth has this dream that he was sitting in an ambassador car and one day as IAS, or an IPS, serve our country.

1.The Civil Services Examination is one of the most difficult and popular examinations in INDIA. This examination is organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) each year in three (Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Interview) Stages. About lakhs of examinees sit in this examination every year, but some of them get the chance to enter the prestigious places of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy, Mussoorie and Sardar Patel Police Academy, Hyderabad. After success in this important examination, successful candidates are selected for IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS and other central services on the basis of their preference and priorities.
2.Nature of Civil Services Examination: - To become a civil servant, the test takers have to go through three important points, which are known as the primary examination, main examination, and interview respectively.
Preliminary Examination: - The nature of the initial examination is objective, of which there are two parts-
The first part is of general study, in which questions related to history, geography, political science, general science, current events are asked. For each question, two points are fixed and for every wrong answer, 1/3 digits are cut.
The second part is of CSAT. In this paper, a total of 80 questions are asked, and each question is of 2.5 marks, so in this way, the paper of CSAT is 200 marks! In this letter, 1/3 digits are cut for every wrong landing.
The marks of this initial examination are not added to the merit list of the main exam.
3.Main Examination: - The second and most important phase of the main examination, Civil Services Examination, 2013, the Union Public Service Commission has made some significant changes in the course of the main exam. After the change, the main examination now has a total of 1750 marks.Let us Understand the format of the main exam through the following table: -
1. essay 250
2. General Studies 1 (250)
3. General Studies 2 (250)
4. General Studies 3 (250)
5. General Studies 4 (250)
6. Optional subjects 1 (250)
7. Optional subjects2 (250)
Apart from this, 2 subjects are compulsory subjects (Hindi / English) whose marks do not join the main exam digits. Both letters are of 300-300 digits and it is mandatory to have only to pass them. Note: Only if a student passes the compulsory subjects, then, the other papers are examined by the commission.
In this way, successful examinees are called for interview.
4.Interview: - Interview is a type of personality test, under which the Commission wishes to have your academic documents, knowledge of various topics to become an efficient administrator.
5.Educational Qualification:-
Candidates must be graduated or equivalent with any State or Central University, or Dreamed University accredited by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), 1956, to appear for the Civil Services Examination.
Students who are waiting for the result of graduation or equivalent examination or in the last year can sit in the preliminary examination. But before joining the main exam, it is necessary to attach a minimum academic qualification degree with the application. In particular, the Commission (UPSC) can allow students to sit in the examination, but do not hold the prescribed qualifications In view of the Commission, their degree is equivalent to the minimum academic qualification. Students with professional and technical qualifications will also be present in this examination.
Candidates who are in the final of M.B.B.S or whose internship is not yet completed can also join the Civil Services Main Examination. But during the interview, they have to keep the entire degree in front of the interview board.
6.Age limits and chances of sitting in the examination: _-
Candidates should be 21 years old for joining the Civil Services Examination while the candidate of a general category can join the examination till the maximum age of 32 years and he can sit for the exam six times, the rules for Obc, sc and st According to the provision of relaxation in age limit.
7.Some important factors of success in the Civil Services Examination-
